IN THE FALL OF 2025,

I was given the opportunity to act as creative director for Syracuse University’s oldest and largest student-run Black lifestyle magazine for the academic year. Not only did I have complete creative control of the semester theme, but I was also in charge of concepting and directing every photoshoot and print layout for the fall issue. When production was finished, I also found myself designing a few spreads for the magazine. To the left is the magazine in Flipbook form, and below are some of my favorite stills and spreads.

Below are my favorite shots from last semester’s production period. Some made it into the magazine, and some are outtakes. These photos were taken by Renegade Magazine’s amazing director of photography, Zyk Koffa. I was in charge of concepting the photoshoot, staging, and directing the photography process down to the pose and angle.

While not explicitly stated in my official position description, Renegade Magazine’s lack of a graphic design team meant that a few of us had to assemble the magazine ourselves.
